MAPILab.Com - NNTP for Outlook

MAPILab.Com - NNTP for Outlook

If you're like me you're using Outlook about 75% of the day now. I live it and use IntraVnews for RSS feeds.

Well I think I'm using Outlook for NNTP now. With the above link it seamlessly is put into Outlook as well. Will I ever come out of the office now?

For SBS the newsgroup at news.microsoft.com is microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs. If you haven't used it yet, do so as you won't get much free from Microsoft and this is. It has Microsoft PSS support staff ready and willing to help you...invaluable resource.

Download details: Moving Data Folders for Windows SBS 2003

Download details: Moving Data Folders for Windows SBS 2003: "This document provides step-by-step instructions for moving each of the data folders for Windows Small Business Server 2003. The data folders include the Users Shared Folders, SharePoint and Monitoring databases, Exchange databases and log files, Sent Faxes folder, and ClientApps shared folder. You can use the instructions in this document to move one or all of the data folders."

Take a look at this doc if you want to move any data driven folders in SBS 2003. Always a good practice to have your data on a 2nd Drive (D:) and all programs on the first (C:).

827603 - Remote users cannot see a Windows Small Business Server 2003 computer in My Network Places

One of the great things of SBS 2003 is the VPN out of the box and ease of use incorporated with it. Some things do creep up with this though and the link above is one of those. This appears to be a KB article just posted by Microsoft. If you can't see the server remotely then follow this to fix it.

Security Patches Installed Fine on SBS 2003 Standard

Installed all the April security patches on a system running SBS 2003 standard tonight and everything came back up just fine. I did see a problem where the install failed when I tried to install all 6 of my outstanding patches at one time. I did a couple at a time after that and I had no issues after that.

April Security Bulletins

OK I'm sure you've seen the April Security Bulletins that are out. I'll be updating an SBS server tonight and I'll post if there are any problems.
